The CEO’s are responsible for leading the Africa Week team, as well as managing overall operations within each constituency. Teneal and Eamon aim to steer Africa Week towards success by ensuring that all short and long term goals are continuously met.

Logistics Executive

Lunga works very closely with faculty on campus and external partners to ensure the best possible outcome for all Africa Week constituencies. He is responsible for coordinating external participation and coherency, as well as tracing updates from all departments for their overall satisfaction.

Operations Executive

Ryan will oversee the operational activities between the different committees and supervising internal affairs within the Executive team. He will work very closely with other departments to develop the overall programme and ensure that all plans are executed to perfection during Africa Week.

Panel Forums Executive

As panel forums exec, she creates and organises formal panels to facilitate exciting and relevant discussions in accordance to the 2024 Africa Week theme. She selects and invites guests from within and outside the school share their vibrant experiences and knowledge of the respective topics with the Waterford community.

Workshops Executive

Hans oversees the planning, coordination and excecution of workshops. He will provide educational and interactive workshops that will engage all students with Africa Week and keep them entertained.

Entertainment Executive

Eyethu will be responsible for ensuring a smooth collaboration with the music department and external musical personnel, as well as coordinating and supporting particular activities, performances and events such as Africa Night to enhance the overall entertainment experience during such occasions.

Africa Night Executive

Teneze will be responsible for the sealing of Africa Week by executing a show-stopping evening event centered around entertainment through performances and fashion shows. She plans the details of the event and coordinates all external and internal performers to close off Africa Week.

Media & Marketing Executive

Asmi manages all media platforms related to Africa Week and is responsible for the publicity and presentation of the brand. She designs all merchandise and strategises the engagement of the wider community with Africa Week through the media and marketing

Assembly & Conference Executive

Emihle is in charge of excecuting the opening of Africa Week Assembly with excellence. This consists of coordinating with performers, reaching for external guest speakers, planning the programme and collaborating with the administration.

Wenzokuhle Maziya

Hospitality Executive

Wenzo will ensure the comfort of our guests and audience, manage the ushers team, and organise cuisine for each event as well as liaise with Capitol Caterers. She will overall oversee the relationships between the diverse departments and ensure that the internal needs of different constituencies are met.

Africa Talks Executive

Leykun is responsible for planning and excecuting the Africa Talks programme, the first few sessions that ultimately lead up to Africa Week. He will be organising and coordinating discussion panels, presentations or talks related to African themes, with the goal of engaging with as many students as possible, while ensuring engaging and informative discussions take place to foster a deeper understanding of topics among the community.
